Building a Lasting Home in Tennessee

There is something so comforting about having a place you call home, and for me, that place is Tennessee. When I look back on my life, it’s hard to believe how far I’ve come. There was a time when I never thought I’d have the kind of stability and lasting family I now treasure every day. Life had its ups and downs, and for a long time, I didn’t know if I could find a place where I truly belonged. Everytime I thought I did, Someone would betray me and break my heart, whether it be a friend, family member, or a significant other I loved.
That all changed when I moved to Tennessee and met my husband. He showed me what stability really looks like, how to stand firm even in the face of challenges, and how to build something lasting, something that feels like home. He taught me that I can trust, I just have to know who to trust. Therapy helped me with that as well. I never imagined I’d be where I am today, but now, with my family and the life we've created together, I can honestly say I’ve found peace and happiness.
It is beautiful here in Tennessee, but it’s not just the scenery that makes Tennessee so special to me. It’s the people. There’s a kindness here that’s hard to put into words. Whether it's the neighbor who waves as you drive by, the small town businesses that always greet you with a smile, or the way strangers go out of their way to help, it’s a kindness that feels genuine and real.
In this blog, I’ll be sharing a bit of my Tennessee life, how I’m living out my dreams, the joy I find in the little moments, and everything that makes living in Tennessee feel like a gift. I came from a small Alabama town where everyone knew everyone and were always in one another's business and gossiping, and not the good kind of gossip. I can’t wait to share how much I have grown since leaving that small town and the growth I have experienced. I plan to share it all with you. And I plan to even share some style and southern recipes along the way as well!
I’m so excited to have this space to connect with you and share the story of my Sweet Tennessee Life. Stay tuned for more posts, and thank you for joining me on this journey.
